The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday night, announced 655 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 153,842 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-240, Ogun-88, Rivers-56, FCT-51, Kaduna-43, Kano-25, Plateau-21, Taraba-19, Edo-17, Abia15, Delta-13, Nasarawa-11, Akwa Ibom-10, Kwara-10, Oyo-10, Kebbi-9, Borno-5, Bayelsa-4, Gombe-4, Ekiti-2 and Osun-2.
The data from the agency disclosed that 11 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,874 on Tuesday to 1,885 on Wednesday.
The agency said 875 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 130,818 while 21,139 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that the discharges on Wednesday included 297 community recoveries in Lagos State and 93 community recoveries in Edo State managed in line with guidelines.
It further explained that data from Edo State were recorded over the last two days.
