The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday night, announced 643 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 140,391 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Oyo State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-88, Lagos-86, Rivers-55, Edo-54, Akwa Ibom-53, Adamawa-52, Plateau-45, Kaduna-41, FCT-34, Kwara-27, Benue-20, Kano-19, Delta-18, Nasarawa-16, Niger-15, Bayelsa-11, Borno-5, Bauchi-2 and Sokoto-2.
The data from the agency disclosed that six deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,667 on Sunday to 1,673 on Monday.
The agency said 1,110 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 114,635 while 24,083 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that discharges on Monday included 744 community recoveries in Lagos State, 100 in Rivers State, 78 in Plateau State, 72 in Kaduna State and 2 in Benue State managed in line with guidelines.
