The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Thursday night, announced 634 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 154,476 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-259, Osun-45, Edo-38, Ogun-35, FCT-33, Anambra-26, Imo-24, Ondo-24, Akwa Ibom-20, Plateau-20, Abia-19, Kaduna-19, Ebonyi-17, Borno-10, Rivers-10, Kano-9, Delta-8, Kebbi-7, Nasarawa-4, Oyo-3, Enugu-2 and Ekiti-2.
The data from the agency disclosed that six deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,885 on Wednesday to 1,891 on Thursday.
The agency said 881 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 131,699 while 20,886 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that the discharges on Thursday included 236 community recoveries in Lagos State and 79 community recoveries in Imo State managed in line with guidelines.
