The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Sunday night, announced 521 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 152,074 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-166, Ogun-52, Rivers-47, Adamawa-37, Ebonyi-37, Akwa Ibom-25, Osun-21, Bayelsa-18, Kaduna-17, Oyo-16, FCT-15, Ekiti-14, Kano-12, Edo-12, Borno-9, Yobe-8, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-4, Bauchi-2 and Kwara-3.
The data from the agency disclosed that eight deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,831 on Saturday to 1,839 on Sunday.
The agency said 614 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 128,619 while 21,616 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that the discharges on Sunday included 228 community recoveries in Lagos State and 43 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.
