COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 506 new cases, 20 deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Sunday night, announced 506 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 139,748 cases.

The health agency disclosed that Ondo had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-90, Kwara-89, Rivers-53, Borno-45, Gombe-32, FCT-28, Imo-26, Ogun-25, Lagos-22, Kaduna-14, Kano-14, Edo-13, Osun-11, Cross River-10, Yobe-9, Ekiti-7, Kebbi-6, Nasarawa-6, Oyo-5 and Jigawa-1.

The data from the agency disclosed that 20 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,647 on Saturday to 1,667 on Sunday.

The agency said 968 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 113,525 while 24,556 cases were still active in the country.

The agency explained that discharges on Sunday included 360 community recoveries in Lagos State, 138 in Osun State, 121 in Plateau State, 89 in Imo State and 38 in Kano State managed in line with guidelines.
