Ahead of school resumption in Osun State on Monday, the Senior Special Adviser, SSA to Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state on Osun Homegrown School Feeding and Health Programme (O-MEALS), Hon Folake Fauziat Olaniyan has called on food vendors across the state to always follow the COVID-19 rules and guidelines.
The SSA made this call during her assessment tour to some local government areas of the state in search of solutions to the challenges confronting the government food vendors.
According to Hon (Mrs) Olaniyan, “now that the second wave of COVID-19 is here, we have to take adequate precautions while there is need for our food vendors across the state to always work towards the precautions by following the NCDC guidelines”.
The SSA, who commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his efforts in creating good environment for the people of the state in order to avert any break of epidemic or pandemic, said the food vendors must ensure cleanliness always.
She enjoined the food vendors to always wash their hands, sanitize them and make use of facemask as some of the ways to comply, adding that, ” prevention is better than cure.”
“I am on assessment tour of some local government areas of the state for me to orientate the food vendors for them to be protected, taking precautions of COVID-19 pandemic and mainly to ensure a safe environment for our pupils,” the SSA added.
