As part of efforts by the Osun State government to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Waste Management Agency, OWMA, Ag. General Manager, Sanitarian Oyewole Fatai Oladosu has appealed to residents of the state to demonstrate their unalloyed support to the government on the ongoing decontamination exercise of office and residential premises.

According to Oladosu, “it is only the state Ministry of Environment and Sanitation that is authorised to decontaminate in accordance to the World Health Organization (W.H.O) standard and all fumigated places shall be given a certificate by the ministry.”
The OWMA boss said, “It is necessary to decontaminate our premises at this point in time not only to prevent the COVID-19 but to avert other epidemic diseases in the society.
“Whoever that wants to decontaminate his or her premises should immediately consult the state Ministry of Environment and Sanitation that is capable of doing such with a token amount which is to be paid into government purse.”
Oladosu who commended the state Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and the Commissioner in charge of the state Ministry of Environment and Sanitation, Hon Sola Oladepo for supporting the OWMA completely, enjoined the entire residents “to continue to demonstrate their unflinching support to the incumbent administration in the state.”
While praising the residents for their support to the OWMA officials, the Ag GM reiterated that the agency would continue to provide a conducive environment.
He warned entire residents not to dump refuse into the stream or gutter around them in order to avert flood disaster as their refuse trucks would continue to be going around for the collection of their refuses saying, ” Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”
