COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,244 new cases, three deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday night, announced 1,244 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-774, FCT-125, Plateau-102, Anambra-47, Ondo-46, Rivers-27, Edo-18, Kaduna-16, Ogun-16, Gombe-16, Bauchi-11, Kano-11, Nasarawa-10, Akwa Ibom-7, Sokoto-7, Borno-5, Ekiti-4 and Zamfara-2.

The agency said three deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,358 on Sunday to 1,361 on Monday.

The data from the agency disclosed that 461 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 80,491 while 19,479 cases were still active in the country.

NCDC explained that the discharges on Monday included 144 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
