COVID-19: NCDC reports 1,633 new cases, 12 deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Saturday night, announced 1,633 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-498, Plateau-214, FCT-176, Rivers-99, Kaduna-98, Edo-87, Anambra-86, Akwa Ibom-50, Osun-47, Kano-40, Oyo-40, Kwara-39, Ebonyi-28, Niger-28, Taraba-28, Ogun-27, Ondo-21, Ekiti-12, Katsina-7, Borno-6, Delta-2.

The agency said 12 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,490 on Friday to 1,502 on Saturday.

The data from the agency disclosed that 1,751 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 95,901 while 23,199 cases were still active in the country.

The agency said the discharges on Saturday included 573 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
