The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday night, announced 1,617 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-776, Kaduna-147, Kwara-131, FCT-102, Plateau-78, Edo-59, Ogun-53, Osun-45, Rivers-37, Taraba-36, Nasarawa-34, Adamawa-33, Kano-26, Delta-20, Ebonyi-16, Bayelsa-11, Gombe-11 and Borno-2.
The agency said 14 deaths, occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,435 on Sunday to 1,449 on Monday.
The data from the agency disclosed that 622 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 89,939 while 20,616 cases were still active in the country.
NCDC further explained that the discharges on Monday included 289 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
