MTN Nigeria said they have closed their premises at the Murtala Muhammed airport for thorough disinfection and all staff that was on duty March 18th 2020 has been placed in isolation
According to a press statement by the telecommunication giant, the development follow discovery that an individual known to have been exposed to COVID 19 may have come into contact with a number of their staff at the MMA2 Airport Lounge in Lagos
They telecommunication company added that any customer or guest who used their facility on or after March 18th should immediately self-isolate for 14 days
“It has come to our attention that on March 18th 2020 an individual known to have been exposed to COVID 19 may have come into contact with a number of our staff at the MMA2 Airport Lounge in Lagos. All staff on duty has been placed in isolation at this time and our premises at the airport are closed for thorough disinfection.
“As guided by the authorities, we suggest that any customer or guest who used the facility on or after March 18th should immediately self-isolate for 14 days and contact the NCDC on 0800970000 (toll free) to receive guidance if they feel unwell” the statement read
It further stated that the company has taken additional precautions across all open stores nationwide – operating reduced hours, maintaining strict hygiene and adopting social distancing measures and they will continue to monitor the situation and support their colleagues through this challenging time.
