NIRSAL Microfinance Bank (NMFB) has alerted members of the public to the fraudulent activities of some persons who disguise as its agents purporting to be assisting them to secure COVID -19 Targeted Credit Facility.
The bank, in a statement in Abuja, on Monday, warned members of the public not to fall prey of the antics of such persons who claim to be acting on its behalf to help them secure the COVID-19 loan facility.
According to the statement, the NMFB reminded the public that the facility was a loan and not grant which must be paid back by beneficiaries with interest.
Titled, FRAUD ALERT, full details of the statement reads:
“The attention of the MANAGEMENT OF NIRSAL MICROFINANCE BANK has been drawn to some unethical practices being perpetrated by individuals disguising as its staff or agents, demanding and receiving money from unsuspecting members of the public purportedly to secure COVID-19 Targeted Credit Facility or the AGSMEIS Loan.
“Members of the public are hereby cautioned against falling prey to such people because the COVID-19 Targeted Credit Facility being disbursed by NFB on behalf of the Central Bank of Nigeria is a LOAN not a GRANT and beneficiaries MUST pay back with interest.
