Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan will Thursday, July 14, 2022, give judgment in the impeachment suit against Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan.

The case was initially slated for judgment on July 26, but it was gathered that it was brought forward and lawyers to the parties notified of the development.

It could not be confirmed why the judgment date was changed, but a source said the decision  could be due to the urgency of the case, while another said since the last hearing, the judge had been under intense pressure to deliver judgment as early as possible.

Another source hinted that since the last adjournment, Chief Judge, Muntar Abimbola, had been urged to constitute an impeachment panel, as directed by the Assembly, in spite of the pending suit.
