An Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded two men, Timothy James and Moses Orban, after they pleaded guilty to stealing 88 crates of eggs and cash totaling N2.6 million.

The defendants, aged 27 and 25 respectively, are facing a charge of felony to wit theft. Their residential addresses were not disclosed.

Presiding over the case, Chief Magistrate B. A. Shonuga ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional facility pending review of facts and sentencing scheduled for March 5.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the offence occurred between October 2025 and January 19 at Plot 296, Fish Farm Estate, Odogunyan area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

He alleged that the defendants stole N2.2 million in cash and 88 crates of eggs valued at N400,000, property of one Kelvin Emmanuel.

According to the prosecution, the offence contravenes Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
