A Karu Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja on Tuesday remanded a 29-year-old man, Sunday Sudan, in prison for alleged mischief and theft.
The judge, Umar Mayana, ordered the remand of the defendant until March 3 to determine his bail condition.
The defendant who resides at Kuruduma 2, Asokoro was arraigned on a five-count charge of criminal conspiracy, mischief, theft, criminal intimidation and public nuisance.
Sudan, however, denied committing the offence.
The Prosecution Counsel, Olarewaju Osho, told the court that the complainant, Halilu Abdulrasheed, of same address, with the defendant reported the matter at Asokoro Police Station on Feb. 1.
The complainant alleged that on the same date, the defendant conspired with one Halidu Nuhu, went to “Galaxy Guest House,” destroyed one weight lift, valued at N10,000, and forcefully collected one Maxfone phone.
“However, during police investigation, the Maxfone was recovered from the defendant and dry leafs suspected to be Indian hemp,” Osho told the court.
The offence, he said, contravened Sections 97, 327, 397 and 188 of the Penal Code.
