A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has rejected the plea for the vacation of an interim order restraining the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Julius Abure, National Secretary, Alhaji Farouk Ibrahim and two others from parading themselves as leaders of the party.
Legal Counsel to the LP National Chairman, Mr. Alex Ejesieme (SAN), prayed the Court to vacate the interim order and restore a semblance of sanity, after a forceful take-over of the Labour Party National Secretariat by another faction.
Ejesieme said the division in the party following the interim order had worsened to the point that four groups in the Imo State chapter of the Party held parallel primaries.
However, Justice Hamza Muazu fixed April 20 to take all applications in respect of the case amid the call by counsel to the affected National officers of LP to have the matter heard speedily.
The trial judge ordered all parties in the suit to ensure speedy filing of their processes to allow for quick hearing of the case.
