The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman to 75 years in prison after convicting him on 12 counts of fraud and money laundering.
Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment Wednesday following prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the alleged diversion of N33.8 billion. Mamman was found guilty on all counts.
The judge ordered the sentences to run consecutively, meaning Mamman will serve the full 75 years. The court also ruled that there would be no option of fine on most counts, except for one count where he was given the option of a N10 million fine.
