A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), his wife, and son bail of ₦500 million each in their ongoing criminal cases.

Presiding Judge Emeka Nwite set strict conditions for the bail, including the requirement that each defendant provide two sureties who own verifiable landed property in the highbrow Abuja districts of Asokoro, Maitama, or Gwarinpa.

The court also ordered that the title documents for the properties be deposited with the court and verified by the Deputy Chief Registrar, and that the sureties swear affidavits of means confirming their financial capacity.

In addition, Malami was instructed to submit his travel documents to the court and must not leave Nigeria without the court’s permission.
