A Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 declined the request for an exparte order sought by a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to allow for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Party earlier scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 24, to take place.

THE CONCLAVE had reported that the PDP Governors’ Forum, chaired by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, was seeking, through a proxy, an exparte order to ensure the NEC meeting holds to pave the way for the forum to have its way in the ongoing battle for the control of the party.

Court documents made available to THE CONCLAVE showed on the face of them that the request for an exparte order was filed about 8.30am on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 by one Imam Auwal, a member of PDP in Gusau.

The PDP Governors’ Forum wanted to ignore the Order of a Federal High Court in Abuja barring the party from removing its Acting National chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum.
Ruling on the motion for the exparte order on Tuesday, Justice Salim Ibrahim declined to grant the order and adjourned the case until Friday, October 25, 2024.
