The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted Yakubu Adamu, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Finance, a N500 million bail with two sureties in like sum.
Adamu was arraigned on a six-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering to the tune of N4.6 billion.

The conditions attached to his bail were two individuals with landed properties in Asokoro, Maitama, or Gwarinpa districts of Abuja to stand sureness for him; original copies of Certificate of Occupancy of properties to be deposited with the court; International passports of Adamu and sureties to be deposited with the court registrar; and travel restrictions. Adamu is not to travel out of Nigeria without court permission
The court has adjourned the matter to January 20, 2026, for commencement of trial.
Adamu will remain in Kuje Correctional Centre until his bail is perfected.
