A 37-year-old nurse, Kehinde Adesanya, has been remanded for 60 days at the Ibara Correctional Centre in Abeokuta over the alleged unlawful abortion that led to the death of 23-year-old National Youth Service Corps member, Victoria Ariyo.

Adesanya was arraigned on Thursday at the Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, facing four counts, including conspiracy, supplying drugs for an unlawful abortion, and murder.

Police counsel, Solomon Babalola, told the court that the alleged offences occurred between January and March 2026 in the Ikereku area of Laderin, Abeokuta, and that the drugs supplied by Adesanya reportedly led to Ariyo’s death.
