Oyo State 2022 governorship hopeful and the Osi Basorun of Ibadan land, Chief Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has congratulated the new Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Moshood Olalekan Balogun on his coronation.
The new Olubadan received his staff of office on Friday, March 11, 2022, from Governor Seyi Makinde.
Adeduntan congratulatory message is contained in a statement released in Ibadan on Sunday morning by his media office.
According to the statement, Chief Dr. Azeez Adeduntan joins the indigenes of Ibadan, the family of the new Olubadan, the government and people of Oyo State in celebrating Oba Balogun ascension to the ancient throne of his forefathers.
Chief Dr. Adeduntan urged Oba Balogun to follow in the worthy and commendable footsteps of his predecessors by working diligently for peace and development in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria.
Adeduntan, the Harvard trained, board certified International cardio vascular surgeon, 2011 Labour Party Governorship candidate in Oyo State and immediate past administration Commissioner of Health, also called on Oba Balogun to do his utmost best in his new role as the chief custodian of the traditions of the people, to preserve and propagate the admirable culture and customs of Ibadanland.
He assured the new Olubadan of his full support and cooperation “as he strives to lead our people forward and contribute meaningfully to the development of his domain, Oyo State and the nation.’’
He prayed that Almighty God would grant Oba Balogun long life, good health and the wisdom he needs for a successful reign.
