The conversation around the alleged indictment of Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for money laundering in the United States has refused to abate.
The conversation has gained traction two days after the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, filed his petition at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
The alleged indictment of Tinubu was one of the linchpins on which Obi is grounding his prayer for nullification of Tinubu’s victory.
Obi’s legal team frontloaded the document purportedly by the US government as evidence in the petition.
There are feelers that Special Agent Moss, the investigator, may be subpoenaed to give evidence during the hearing of the petition.
But Tinubu’s camp is insisting that the document and the alleged indictment are neither here nor there.
In fact, spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has launched spirited efforts to poohpooh the document and the alleged indictment.
He did that on Channels Television on “Politics Today” where he was grilled by the programme’s anchor, Seun Okinbaloye.
But in a riposte, in a video doing the rounds on the social media, the voice of an unidentified person could be heard poking holes in every of Keyamo’s defences of Tinubu.
