Concerned stakeholders warn mischief makers against insinuating friction in Senate President-Clerk Senate’s relationship

Some concerned stakeholders and watchers of activities in the National Assembly have called on those insinuating friction into the relationship between Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and Senate Clerk, Mr Andrew Nwoba, to stop it forthwith.

The stakeholders, comprising some top officials of the National Assembly, warned against causing disharmony between Akpabio and Nwoba.

They noted that the relationship between the two officers had been cordial and mutual, with each officer discharging their responsibilities accordingly, contrary to reported claim.of disharmony.

A stakeholder said that the notion being created out there that there’s a friction between, president of the Senate and clerk of the Senate was not true, and those fanning the ember of discord werre on their own and would regret the consequences of their action if they failed to desist from creating mischief.

The clerk Senate, who just returned from a training programme at the behest of the Senate President, reported to his principal.

His principal had advised him to focus on the administration of the Senate as Clerk.

It couldn’t be confirmed where and how the insinuations were consummated.

Since the discussion between the Senate President and the clerk of the Senate, the latter has been actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the Senate, effectively and efficiently.

A grapevine said that “The commission saw the capacity and competence of the Senate clerk before appointing him.

According to him, “people should stop misleading the public with unsubstantiated reports and claims.

“The Senate clerk is active, and in charge, running the affairs of the Senate without glitches.

“He should be supported rather than be distracted from the responsibility before him.”
