The remains of Madam Alice Janet Obaseki, mother-in-law to the immediate past Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, were on Friday buried in her home at Ikoro, an ijaw community in Ovia Northeast Local Government Area of Edo State.

Family members, church brethren, friends and political associates of Prince Agba and his wife, Princess Catherine Orobosa Agba, converged on Ikoro, to bid farewell to the Senior Mother in Israel of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Alice Janet Obaseki.

Madam Obaseki died on June 9, 2024 in Abuja leaving behind children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to mourn and bury her. She was aged 83.
It was celebrations galore at the sleepy community of Ikoro as the people received scores of dignitaries who came to celebrate with Prince Clem and Princess Catherine Agba [nee Obaseki] the life and times of their matriarch.


The late Madam Alice Janet Obaseki, who was once a business woman, served God and humanity, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and affection for her community.
Among those present at Ikoro on Friday to identify with the Agbas on the burial, which took place privately in the late Iye’s [as she was fondly referred to] home were:

● Mr Dahiru Majeed [A renowned newspaper columnist and TV analyst]
