Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Sea Port, Dr. Ini Ememobong, has resigned from his position.
His action followed Governor Umo Eno’s decampment from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The commissioner conveyed his decision to resign in a letter to the governor dated June 6, 2025.
The letter was delivered to the governor moments after Governor Eno formally announced his movement from the PDP to the APC at a high-profile event in the Government House in Uyo on Friday, June 6.

The gathering drew prominent APC figures from across the country, including governors from Lagos, Delta, Cross River, and Edo states, as well as Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Senate President.
