Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has addressed the Northern Governors Forum, emphasizing the “Whole of Society” approach to tackling Nigeria’s security challenges.
Director, Defence Information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, said that at the forum in Kaduna, the CDS advocated collaboration among government entities, community leaders, and traditional and religious authorities, affirming, “By working hand in hand, we overcome the challenges before us and pave the way for a better future for Nigeria.”
General Musa highlighted the importance of sustained support for the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to achieve lasting peace.
He underscored the AFN’s readiness to assist in any initiatives set by the governors, as well as traditional and religious leaders.
The newly established Operation Fassan Yamma Command was cited as a demonstration of the AFN’s resolve to enhance stability in the North and nationwide.
The CDS commended the 19 Northern Governors and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their steadfast support, reaffirming the AFN’s loyalty to the administration.
Additionally, General Musa spoke on the newly launched Presidential Livestock Programme, expressing optimism that it would drive agricultural growth, boost food security, and provide sustainable livelihoods.
Northern Governors Forum Chairman, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, echoed his appreciation for the AFN’s dedication to regional security, and praised President Tinubu for establishing Operation Fassan Yamma to address the region’s specific security concerns.
