CoAS urges troops to persevere in face of ongoing security challenges

The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Lt Gen Faruok Yahaya has urged troops of the Nigerian Army to persevere and not to relent in the face of security challenges confronting the nation.

He made this call while addressing combined troops of Training and Doctrine Command and 31Artillery Brigade during his maiden Operational Visit to Minna. Lt Gen Yahaya further advised them to be professional, always at alert as well as to be decisive in dealing with unscrupulous elements.

Entertaining questions from the newsmen, the former Theatre Commander noted that the Nigerian Army in synergy with other security agencies is handling various security challenges in Niger and neighbouring state.

He requested locals to always supply troops with intelligence information that would assist them in their operation.

Lt Gen Yahaya used the opportunity of his visit to pay brief visit to 31 Artillery Brigade Gunners Memorial Garden where he paid respect to troops that died in the line of duty within the Command Area of Responsibility.

Creams of very senior officers were at Minna to welcome CoAS. Notable amongst them were the Commander Training and Doctrine Command, Maj Gen S.O Olabanji, Commander Corps of Artillery, Maj Gen T.A Gagariga, and Commander 31Artillery Brigade, Brig Gen Ademola Adedeji.
