Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, has charged staff members of the assembly to cultivate and promote workplace unity and close interpersonal relationships in and out of service.

He said this on the occasion of the send forth ceremony organised by staff members of Senate in honour of its immediate past clerk of the Senate, Barr Chinedu Akubueze.

The CNA, in a nostalgic speech, recalled when they joined the service of the national assembly, the workplace synergy, the hard work, diligence, sacrifice, and dedication to work.

He remarked: “we should find time to engage in more celebration of one another at any given time; it must not necessarily be during retirement; there are better reasons and times we all have to be celebrated.”

He encouraged staff members to always make time out to celebrate and get celebrated.

“Relaxation, celebration amid tight schedules should be an avenue for togetherness,” he said.

On his part, the celebrator, Barr Chinedu Akubueze, was overwhelmed by the show of love to him by those he worked with.

He said, “I was glad retiring as the Clerk, Senate, but fate found me worthy, when the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, graciously appointed me as his chief of Staff.

“These fate and honour done to me can only be God,” he said.

An elated Akubueze was full of praise for the CNA, whom he described as one with an excellent attitude to the assignments given him.

He assured staff members of NASS of a better deal under Barrister Kamoru Ogunlana.

Akubueze said: “The CNA will ensure that NASS is well positioned. I have no doubt about his capacity to deliver. I have known him for almost thirty years; so I know he will give his best because he is thorough and he is a go-getter, an achiever par excellence.”

Others who spoke on the occasion extolled the rare qualities of Barrister Akubueze, especially his simplicity, gentility, humility and the fear of God.

The occasion, which was attended by staff members of the Senate and other well wishers, was held at Indigo Signature, Apo Resettlement, Abuja.
