Oil mogul, Folorunsho Alakija must be highly embarrassed by how her husband, Modupe Alakija is tarnishing the image of the family with his public conduct.
The 72-year-old who also doubles as the chairman of FAMFA Oil, an initiative of his wife, has been punished by upscale social club, Ikoyi Club, of which he is a member of, for getting physically violent with another prominent member of the club.
According to The Capital, victim, was rude to him and Alakija who likes to be treated with respect and expects everyone he comes across, to treat him like a diety, found the disrespect from this individual out of place and promptly dazzed the ‘disrespectful’ member with a blinding slap.
The man also responded with a blinding slap and pounced on Alakija and both of them landed on the floor with Alakija reportedly landing his victim blows on all sides.
Eventually, he was extricated from the grip of Alakija.
For exhibiting a behaviour unbecoming of a grandfather, the club suspended him for one, begining from December 1st to run through to November 10, 2022.
One would have expected that his wife’s pious and decent public conduct would have rubbed off positively on Modupe. But it is obvious the wife needs to create a special prayer session for her husband, to exorcise the fighting spirit in him. (The Will)
