The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Osun, Mr Teslim Igbalaye, has urged all and sundry to take the opportunity of the symbolic occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ to extend acts of love and kindness to all mankind, especially the less privileged in the society.

Igbalaye, in his Christmas message to people of Osun, identified the inherent qualities of Jesus Christ as love, care, selflessness and compassion for the weak, vulnerable and the less-privileged.

The SSG explained: “Christmas is a season that radiates the depth of God’s love that we should emulate in our relationship with our neighbours, irrespective of status and creed. This season is another opportunity to increase our acts of kindness and touch the less privileged in our society.”

Igbalaye further stated: “This Christmas means so much more than just mere merriment. It is a veritable avenue to extend love to the less-privileged who are disadvantaged in several ways. In this special season therefore, I urge you all to spread love and be your brother’s keeper. Let us put smiles on the faces of the weak and vulnerables. This is the real essence of Christmas.”

He commended residents for the peaceful atmosphere the State had enjoyed over the years and urged them to emulate Jesus Christ and continue to pray for continued peace in the State.

He took the opportunity to appreciate the support and love shown to the ruling Party during and after the 16th July, 2022 gubernatorial election.

Igbalaye urged the people to cooperate with Governor Ademola Adeleke to take Osun to greater heights.

He wished Osun people a Merry Christmas and a prosperous year 2023, and urged them to continue to pray for sustained peace and progress in the State, especially as Nigerians prepared for next year’s general elections.
