The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has praised the National Assembly for the prompt screening of the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede.
In a statement,.Director of Defence Information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau said General Musa, who attended the screening sessions in both the Senate and House Committees on Army, expressed satisfaction with the thorough yet expedited process.
He assured the lawmakers that Lt. Gen. Oluyede, upon confirmation, would bring renewedvigourr and extensive experience to the ongoing fight against insecurity. The CDS also highlighted Oluyede’s commitment to building on the achievements of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
Describing the National Assembly’s swift action as both timely and patriotic, General Musa reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s (AFN) dedication to securing the nation and its continued loyalty to the constitutional authorities in fulfilling its defense mandate.
