Carlos Alcaraz has just clinched his second ATP title of the season, winning at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Andy Roddick noticed a different intensity to Alcaraz at the ATP Masters 1000 event, which took place on the clay courts of Monte Carlo.

Novak Djokovic has congratulated Alcaraz on his success, with the Spaniard having beaten Lorenzo Musetti in the final.

Musetti took the first set of the Monte Carlo Masters final, but Alcaraz recovered to emerge victorious 3-6, 6-1, 6-0.

The latter now has 18 ATP Tour titles to his name at the age of 21, having also won this season in Rotterdam.

And as ever, along with ranking points and the trophy, Alcaraz has been rewarded handsomely financially for his latest success.

In fact, it has helped him create history in the sport, with Tennis noting that Alcaraz has become the first player born in the 2000s to surpass $40million in career prize money.

The four-time Grand Slam champion has also become just the 11th player across the ATP and WTA tours to surpass the $40million mark.

Alcaraz perhaps wasn’t at his electric best at the Monte Carlo Masters, but his fighting spirit did come to the fore.
