Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was on Sunday spotted paying his respects at the London Central Mosque to his friends who recently passed away.
The British-Nigerian athlete attended the funeral prayer for Kevin Latif Ayodele, his personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, his strength and conditioning coach, who died in a car accident in Nigeria last week.
Joshua sustained minor injuries in the crash, which occurred on December 29, on the Lagos–Ibadan expressway.
The 36-year-old boxer was treated and discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve before returning to the United Kingdom on Saturday.
Images and videos from the service, which have since circulated online, show Joshua dressed in a black outfit in the midst of attendees, participating in the solemn Islamic rites. [TheCable]
