Buni appeals for urgent intervention in federal projects in Yobe

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has taken the state of federal projects in his state to the federal government, insisting that there is an urgent need for intervention.

Buni made the call during a visit to the Secretary to the Federal Government, Sen. George Akume, where he discussed areas of cooperation and intervention by the federal government.

The governor, while highlighting the state of federal projects in the state and the urgent need for federal intervention, recalled that some federal roads were washed away by the floods last year.

Other projects the governor made an appeal for included the Damaturu regional water supply, Fika Water project, and electricity supply, among others.

The Secretary to the Federal government, Sen. George Akume, assured Governor Buni that the federal government would look into these projects to improve the lives of the people.

He also assured the commitment of the Tinubu administration of working on the same page for the benefit of the people of the state.

According to a statement on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Mamman Mohammed, Buni similarly met with private investors with proposal to establish agro-allied industries in the state.

Buni disclosed the readiness of Yobe state government to establish Industrial Village to be provided with facilities to woo investors to the State.
