Hours to the commencement of its presidential primary election, the national caucus of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has launched into last-ditch meeting to clear the way for the emergence of the party’s presidential standard bearer.
The meeting convened at the instance of President Muhammadu Buhari is taking place in the State House, Abuja.
In attendance at the meeting are some founding farhers of the party, namely Segun Osoba, Bisi Akande, John Oyegun, Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Adamu, National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore, and some governors.
The meeting will provide guidance to the party and, also consequentially endorse possible standard bearer for the party on tandem with the position of the President who had expressed his desire to determine his successor.
In fact, the President is expected at the meeting to disclose and place on the table at the national caucus meeting his preferred successor for the meeting’s information, consideration and endorsement.
