The Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) Worldwide has condemned a planned protest by the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Central Zone, over a legal dispute involving the President of Azikel Group, Dr. Azibapu Godbless Eruani, and Mr. Kariyai Daukoru.
In a statement on Saturday, the council described the proposed protest as unnecessary while the matter is before a competent court.
It urged the IYC Central Zone Chairman, Comrade Peres Ineife, to shelve the protest and allow the judicial process to run its course.
The council also appealed to the newly elected IYC Worldwide President, Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete, to promote dialogue and reconciliation among parties in the aviation training initiative.
OBYC said Dr. Eruani’s aviation training programme was a philanthropic scheme designed to empower Bayelsa youths. It rejected claims that he intended to victimise anyone.
The council called on Ijaw youths, political leaders and stakeholders to exercise restraint, respect the rule of law and avoid actions capable of undermining the judiciary or disrupting peace in the state.
