Bribery scandal rocks NAIA: Five security officers arrested for Airport security breach by el-Rufai
Nasir el-Rufai

A major security breach at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) arising from the February 12, 2026 dramatic passage by former Kaduna State Governor,  Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has led to the arrest of five officers from various security agencies, including the police, DSS, and aviation security.

The officers, identified as Ayuba Yakubu (ASP, Police), Murtala Inuwa (DSS), Najeeb Murtala (ASI, NIS), Musa Adamu (AVSEC), and Salihu Victor (AVSEC), were detained after a joint investigation showed they accepted bribes to allow unauthorised access to restricted areas.

The probe, conducted by the DSS, NIS, NCS, and Federal Ministry of Aviation, found the officers compromised airport security, with some confessing to receiving bribes.

They’ve been handed over to ICPC for prosecution.
