Governor of Bauchi Bala Mohamed of Bauchi State on Monday announced a self-quarantine after contact with the son of former VP Atiku Abubakar who tested positive for the new coronavirus.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on media Mukhtar M. Gidado.
”Our Governor Bala Mohammed in self isolation following contact with Atiku Abubakar’s Son. Yes. He was on the same flight from Lagos to Abuja. They shook hands and exchanged pleasantries” Gidado said.
He added that the Governor has not exhibited any symptom of the disease but based on recommendation of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Governor will remain in isolation to avoid spreading the disease.
