The Federal Government has announced a N5 billion palliative for each state of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, to cushion the effect of the removal of petrol subsidy on Nigerians.
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, made the announcement while speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
NEC is made up of state governors, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and other senior government officials.
