Tragedy of monumental dimensions has struck Edo State in the aftermath of a fuel tanker fire incident that roasted many persons alive.
The tragic incident reportedly happened on Benin-Sapele Road in Edo state.
The fuel-laden tanker was reported to have fallen on the road by Ologbo community.
Ologbo is the boundary community between Edo and Delta states.
It was learnt that the fatal accident occurred when the driver of the tanker heading towards Benin lost control and fell on its side due to the deplorable condition of the road.
Some locals were said to be scooping the fuel in the tanker when there was a spark that ignited the vessel.
The fire angrily raged, consuming everything in its course, including humans.
It was learnt that the victims were mainly stranded travellers.
Reports said that the fuel tanker accident in the afternoon of Sunday, October 1, was still raging as of the time of this report.
Also, as of the time of this report, the number of vehicles burnt had yet to be confirmed.
