Today, we felicitate a dear friend and brother, Hon. Clem Ikanade Agba, Honourable Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, as he clocks yet another blissful year in sound health and high spirit.

Your birth has been one of immense blessings to this generation of young leaders. You are a role model to many aspiring youths out there who see your lifestyle and achievements as a motivating force in the pursuit of their own individual dreams and aspirations.

Like Ralph Waldo, Emerson rightly noted, “Our chief want in life is somebody who will make us do what we can.” You have steered your life with such inspiration and given the future generation a reason to hope; a reason to become who they wish to be.

From your days in Chevron and your rise through the echelon as Commissioner of Environment and Public Utilities, Edo State, to your current portfolio as Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, you have displayed an exceptional quality in administration, management and demonstrated a unique sense of interpersonal relationship with all who have come across your path.

With a happy family of a virtuous wife, whom you married from the gargantuan Obaseki family, and four lovely sons, and two grand children, you reenacted yourself as a family man with a unity of purpose. You have shown your quality as both husband and father, and this has reflected in your dealings with humanity as a whole.

The chronicle of your life so far is one of success. But like Winston Churchill once, rightly, said: “Success is not final; failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.” We know you have got that in spades. The towering achievements with which your birthday is graced today can only be compared to the falling of small stones, which begins an avalanche in the mountain. We expect to see a flood of more successful outings in your life pursuits.

On this auspicious day, we wish you a long, happy life in which you shall live to see these days renewed.

Happy birthday, worthy inlaw

Towelling regards,

Chief Owen Chamberlain Obaseki, JP
