The Osun State University, UNIOSUN, has condemned the act by a fraudulent individual who claims to be the Controller of Admission in the University by extorting N15,000 for admission slot from admission seekers and their parents.
The affected individual, in a press statement issued and made available to journalists in Osogbo the state capital by the University Public Relations Officer, PRO, Ademola Adesoji on Friday, also operates an email-based online platform.
According to the statement, “we would like to put the record straight that the aforementioned individual is not in the employment of the University.
“Osun State University is happy to state that our undergraduate admission is merit-based and at NO COST. Admission seekers and their parents are therefore advised not to pay or enter into any agreement with this fraudulent individual.”
The University said it had already reported this individual to security agencies and that they were taking steps to bring the perpetrator to justice.
It said “anyone who deals with this individual does so at his/her own risk.”
