Members of the Ajegunle Motor Spare Parts Association, Osogbo in Osun State have called the attention of the state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola to the deplorable condition of the road linking Gaaji Mosque to BCGA and Old-Garage in Osogbo.
According to the Chairman of the association, Alhaji Azeez Kamarudeen Adesina, the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Rasheed Adebisi (Ore Meji), Secretary, Mr Nafiu Tijani and Treasurer, Mr Jimoh Adeboye in a press statement issued and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday, the motor spare parts association lamented the ugly situation of the road, saying it is completely impassable for motorists plying the road.
Members of the association said if the road is rehabilitated by the government, it would reduce the traffic jam for motorists plying Igbona-Old Garage road saying it would serve as alternative route.
“All our members in the Ajegunle market used to repair the road ourselves with stones and sands to fill all the pot holes but the road is refusing our efforts again because of the erosion that has expanded the pot holes beyond repair except total rehabilitation.
“This is the reason why we are calling on the Osun State government to urgently come to the aid of the ancient road which has been marginalised for so long” the association lamented.
The association commended Governor Oyetola’s led government in the state in the area of road construction and rehabilitation, while appealing to Mr Governor to urgently rescue the residents of the BCGA community as the only road in the area has been totally abandoned.
“Governor Gboyega Oyetola is our man and we trust him that anytime from now he would commence rehabilitation work on this mentioned road to alleviate the suffering of the residents and motorists plying the road”.
