Baze University, Abuja, will host its 7th Inaugural Lecture on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi examining how mobility and media reshape the idea of home.
The lecture, entitled “How Your Village Is Following You: Mobility, Memory and the Mediated Persistence of Belonging,” will be delivered at 2:00 p.m. in Auditorium C.

Adeniyi, a Professor of Communication and Media Epistemology, will explore how digital connections sustain cultural and communal ties across distance.
The event is convened by the Chancellor, Senator Y.D. Baba-Ahmed.
Organisers say the lecture marks a significant moment in the university’s academic calendar and will bring together scholars, students, and guests for what they describe as a timely reflection on identity in a connected age.
