Bayelsa United has bolstered its squad by unveiling 10 new players ahead of the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The official ceremony took place on Friday in Yenagoa, where the club introduced the new signings to the public.
According to the club’s Media Officer, Mr. Jackson Hananeel, these new players will integrate with the existing squad as Bayelsa United prepares for the upcoming season.
The unveiled players include Daniel Bameyi, Goforth Amady, Barnabas Ingya, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Rabiu Abdullahi, Hadi Mohammed, Ajibola Matthew, and Daweil Sadiq. Joining them are Akpokabowei Solomon and Godbless Akpos.
Daniel Bameyi joins the former Aiteo Cup champions from Yum Yum FC of Abuja, while Goforth Amady comes from FC One Rocket of Akwa Ibom. Rabiu Abdullahi joins from Tudun Wada United of Kano State, and Auwal Sadiq arrives from Warinji Academy. Ibrahim Abdullahi was signed from Kano Pillars, Yahaya Ibrahim from Kastina United, and forward Hadi Mohammed from Akwa United.
During the unveiling ceremony, Bayelsa United Chairman, Mr. Ebiki Timitimi, congratulated the players on their recent success in winning the maiden edition of the Governor Douye Diri Pre-Season Tournament.
He urged them to carry the same energy into the NPFL season, emphasizing that their recent triumph is a stepping stone to greater success.
Some of the newly unveiled players, including Daniel Bameyi, Akpokabowei Solomon, and Barnabas Ingya, expressed their gratitude to the Almighty and the Bayelsa United management for the opportunity.
They conveyed their confidence that the “Prosperity Boys” will have a productive season, with a focus on returning the team to continental competitions.
