The reigning Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions, Bayelsa Queens have secured their spot in the final of the Governor Diri Female Pre-season Football Tournament after a week of captivating matches in Yenagoa.
They will face Nasarawa Amazons in a highly anticipated final on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
Bayelsa Queens advanced to the final after defeating Edo Queens 5-3 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time during their semi-final clash.

Meanwhile, Nasarawa Amazons earned their place in the final with a 1-0 victory over Bayelsa Princesses in the second semi-final, courtesy of a 25th-minute goal by Original.
The tournament, designed to prepare NWFL teams for the upcoming season, saw 10 clubs compete, with Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons emerging as the top contenders.
Earlier in the day, Edo Queens will take on Bayelsa Princesses in the third-place playoff at 2:00 p.m., with the grand final scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the same venue.
