In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Doubara Atasi, he urged the public to discountenance unfounded speculations about the deputy governor’s absence, stressing that the Bayelsa Number Two man was out of office due to an ear infection.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo said as a public officer, it was incumbent on him to keep the public properly informed about the health challenge that deprived him of performing his statutory duties effectively for the past couple of days.
He, however, said that he was recovering fast due to the effective services of the medical personnel attending to him and had started working from home.
The statement also added that Senator Ewhrudjakpo led his wife, Beatrice, his Edo State courterpart, Mr Philip Shaibu, and other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to attend the state gubernatorial campaign grand finale in Yenagoa on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Senator Ewhrudjakpo thanked his medical team for their efforts and expressed gratitude to Bayelsans for their understanding and show of concern.
