Bayelsa State Acting Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has called on the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to adopt measures that reflect the aspirations of grassroots stakeholders across the country.

He made this appeal while declaring open the 13th Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum, held at the Local Content Towers in Yenagoa. The event, themed “Deepening the Next Frontier for Nigerian Content Implementation,” brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Nigeria.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo emphasized the need for the forum to move beyond discussions and focus on actionable strategies that foster inclusivity and deliver tangible outcomes.

“The theme is forward-looking, and I encourage participants to actively engage in transforming ideas into strategies that will yield lasting impacts. Leveraging technology and empowering local talent will create a vibrant ecosystem that promotes creativity, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development,” he stated in a message delivered by his media aide, Mr. Doubara Atasi.

The Acting Governor also reiterated Bayelsa State’s commitment to collaborating with the NCDMB and other partners in sectors such as energy, agriculture, healthcare, and tourism, aligning with the state’s ASSURED Prosperity Agenda.

“Let us focus on building resilient and sustainable frameworks that enable communities to actively participate in emerging sectors, particularly the digital economy, ensuring shared prosperity and a future where no one is left behind,” Ewhrudjakpo added.

In his keynote address, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Ogbe, highlighted key milestones achieved over the past seven years, including:

The commissioning of a new library at Niger Delta University, Amassoma, in partnership with Shell Petroleum Development Company.
The completion of the Kwale Gas Gathering and Injection Facility in Delta State.
The inauguration of a 150-ton LPG facility in Kaduna State.
The establishment of a gas leak detection facility in Abuja.
Engr. Ogbe also announced the expansion of the NCDMB Academy, which now offers specialized training programs for youths in the oil and gas sector, and the ongoing development of zonal offices in Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Delta States.

The Practical Nigerian Content Forum continues to be a critical platform for advancing local content in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, with a focus on fostering innovation, inclusivity, and strategic partnerships to unlock new opportunities for growth and development.
