The honour was conferred on Tuesday at the Ernest Ikoli Media Complex in Yenagoa during a combined send-forth ceremony for three senior members of the forum: retiring General Manager of Niger Delta Television (NDTV), Mr. Fredrick Fabor; retiring General Manager of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Yenagoa, Mrs.Daoju Whyte; and Mr. Udosen Udoh, General Manager of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Glory FM Yenagoa, who has been transferred to Rivers State.
Presenting the award, the forum praised Mr. Alabrah for consistently fostering seamless working relationships between the state government and the broadcast media.
A visibly elated Alabrah described the recognition as “a pleasant surprise,” stating that it would motivate him to deepen collaboration with the media.
“Sometimes the little things we do count. For the Forum of GMs of Broadcast Organisations to publicly acknowledge the work we do is a great honour,” he said.
He commended the broadcast stations for their resilience in projecting the policies and programmes of the Senator Douye Diri administration despite the harsh economic environment.
Alabrah also congratulated the retiring and transferred general managers, urging them to continue mentoring younger journalists with the wealth of experience they had acquired over the years.
Immediate past chairman of the forum and NDTV GM, Mr. Fredrick Fabor, thanked the Chief Press Secretary for making the forum’s work easier at critical moments and lauded the state government for building and equipping the Ernest Ikoli Media Complex and the state-owned broadcast stations.
Mrs. Daoju Whyte, in her remarks, described the event as a defining moment in her career and expressed gratitude to Governor Diri and Mr. Alabrah for their support during her tenure.
The new chairman of the forum and Acting General Manager of Radio Bayelsa, Mr. Terence Ekiseh, pledged to consolidate the achievements of the outgoing executive and solicited continued support from the governor’s spokesman.

The ceremony climaxed with the presentation of appreciation plaques to Mr. Fabor (Outstanding Chairman), Mr. Udosen Udoh (Outstanding Secretary), and Mrs. Daoju Whyte (Outstanding Exco Member).
